Claude Opus 4.8 is faster, smarter, and three times cheaper to run at speed — the model your agentic workflows just got a significant upgrade.
Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4.8, an upgrade to Opus 4.7 with across-the-board benchmark improvements and better collaborative performance, available today at the same price. Alongside the model, three new capabilities ship: users on claude.ai can now control how much effort Claude puts into a task; Claude Code gains “dynamic workflows” for tackling very large-scale problems; and fast mode — which runs Opus 4.8 at 2.5× speed — is now three times cheaper than it was for previous models. For IAM and security teams building identity workflows on Claude, this is a material improvement in both capability and cost to deploy at scale.
You can access the This system card which reports results from a wide variety of pre-deployment evaluations run on Claude Opus 4.8. System Card: Claude Opus 4.8
